Checking the Pulse of Your Relationships

Relationships matter. They shape how we experience the world, how we see ourselves, and how we feel emotionally day to day. Think about the state of your closest relationships—your partner, family members, children, or friends. Are you feeling connected, supported, and understood? Or has stress, busyness, or miscommunication created distance? Whether you're struggling in your romantic relationship or finding it difficult to connect with your child, taking time to check in with your relationships can create space for understanding and growth. A simple way to start is by asking yourself a few questions: How have I been feeling in this relationship? How might the other person be feeling? When was the last time we truly felt connected?

Checking in with one another is one of the best ways to better understand the health of your relationship. When you have time—preferably when you can both be fully present and free from distractions—create space for a meaningful conversation. Ask questions that go beyond the surface such as, How have you really been doing? How have you been feeling about our relationship? What do you feel are our strengths? Are there areas where we could improve? Share your own thoughts and feelings as well. Conversations like these allow you to connect on what truly matters and can open the door to deeper understanding and stronger relationships.
